Centre Beaubourg (Competition for the Pompidou Center)

Centre Beaubourg (Competition for the Pompidou Center)
Paris, France. 1971-1974
Architect: Chanéac with Claude y Pascal Häusermann

In 1971 Chanéac and Claude & Pascal Häusermann present together to the competition for the construction to the Centre Beubourg (that would be later named as Pompidou Center). His proposal occupies the entire site and organizes the different programs around a large central plaza and a structural arch that offers rigidity to the rest of the volumes. These new shapes are featured by their amorphous geometries  and the apparent randomness of its organization, creating an architectonic abstract and complex landscape in the interior.
